In 2008 my experiments with imaginative and sometimes whimsical plant motifs led to the creation of a series of contemporary botanical collage. Working in this genre creates an interesting balance between my love of the freedom of nature and the way I attempt to impose order on, well, everything, including my imagination and how it spills out onto the page. As much as I love the aesthetic of an overgrown cottage garden, I gravitate towards square foot gardening and its meticulous attempt to control nature. Continue...
